Tool Steel
Used for tools and cutting steel. Analysis required to determine grade.
White Goods
Large household appliances such as fridges, stoves and dishwashers.
Plate & Structural
Structural steel, prepared or unprepared, such as I-beams.
Complete Vehicles
End-of-life vehicles and scrapped cars. Please call ahead for instructions.
Machinery
Fluids must be drained and batteries must
be removed.
Steel Turnings
Shavings or filings from machining steel.
Dealer Clips
Light gauge shreddable steel free
of contaminants.
Heavy Melt HMS

Some materials may be accepted only if they meet specific preparation requirements. Please make sure these items are empty, drained, opened, crushed, cut or otherwise prepared before visiting your local AIM facility.
Aerosol Cans
Must be empty, punctured, and/or crushed.
Cylinders
Must be cut in half with valves removed and completely empty of all liquid vapours.
Drums, Totes, Pails
Must be empty and open or crushed with no solids, residual liquids or vapours.
End Of Life Vehicles
Contact site for details.
Fencing
Contact site for details.
Oil Filters
Must be drained and dry, preferably crushed.
Storage Tanks
Accepted only if there are holes large enough to inspect and verify the tank contains no sludge or residual; no combustible vapour present.

Please contact your local yard if you are unsure about an item.
Alkaline, Lithium & NiCd Batteries
These battery types are not accepted as regular scrap material.
Radioactive Materials
Radioactive items or materials with radioactive contamination are prohibited.
Explosives
Explosive materials, live ammunition and related hazardous items are prohibited.
Transformers, Capacitors & Ballasts
These items may contain regulated substances and are not accepted unless approved.
Hazardous Waste
Chemicals, contaminated materials and hazardous waste cannot be accepted.
Unprepared Compressed Gas Cylinders
Compressed gas cylinders must be properly prepared before they can be accepted.
Mercury
Materials containing mercury are not accepted.
